"It is very valuable to come here to the workplace English sessions, sharing about the New Zealand culture. We have wide-ranging conversations about things such as health issues, politics and normal day to day life."

NEWS FLASH!
We are launching a new programme this term for those wanting to get their Heavy Vehicle Class 2 learners licence. You could be working towards this with an experienced and professional tutor now!

WORKPLACE

Hagley Adult Literacy Centre provides one on one and small group training. Our workplace programme is for those currently employed in full time, part time or casual work.

Wherever possible we match our learners with a tutor who has skills and experiences to best suit the needs of each learner. Our tutors have a wide range of experience working alongside learners from all backgrounds - from Truck drivers to Preschool workers to Swim Instructors! Learners with English as a second language are well catered for.

We tailor make courses to suit the individual as well as the company's needs using relevant workplace material for training. We will work with you to identify the skills you need to do well at your workplace.

You will benefit from:

  • Improved core skills, such as Health & Safety, that are necessary in today’s workplace

  • Enhanced Communication skills

  • Reading workplace documentation

  • Gaining NZQA Qualifications

  • Computer Skills such as Word and Excel

We can work alongside your ITO to provide seamless training from increasing Literacy, Numeracy and Communication skills to completing an Industry National Qualification.

Sessions can take place at our Edgeware campus, at Hagley College or at your workplace.

There is no fee for attending classes; however, good attendance is required. Each learner is allocated between 25-80 hours tuition.
